Air Daryal

Air Daryal is an Italian contemporary artist, curator and art manager. Her body of work comprises 250 paintings, with works held in international collections.

Originally from Lake Iseo, she studied at the art high school in Bergamo and the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, further exploring restoration in Cremona and art therapy and sensory art in Milan.

Her study of the masters, from Caravaggio to Canaletto, precedes the development of her own pictorial research. Classical figures, tigers and architecture coexist with layered surfaces, erasures and material inserts.

The career

In 2016 she wins in Verona. Her career includes ten solo shows at major Italian art fairs and exhibitions curated by Angelo Crespi, Luca Beatrice, Elisabetta Roncati and Cesare Orler.

The Shining Hardness at MAC in Milan, with Fondazione Maimeri, presents her material research in 2018. The White Shadows in Sarnico explores white in her painting in 2019. Write Your Era follows at Opificio Piccitto in Palazzolo sull’Oglio in 2021, and Hic Sunt Leones at Univocal Gallery in Brescia in 2022.

After her first recognised exhibitions, her research reaches international collections, fairs and exhibition projects across Italy. Air continues to paint and develop new series while extending her practice into curating and art management, supporting other artists in building their own careers.
